                       Its been a while hasn’t it? I haven’t blogged in months, but I am back people! My life has been changing, I have a new job, I go out more, and my walk with God is growing as well. I feel as though I have been growing and changing for the better. I’ve felt so good that I asked God to move me up, to use me, to challenge me(it seemed like such a good idea at the time, ha ha) and boy oh boy is He.

                       God showed me that I spend a lot of time encouraging other people. I love to encourage, to be positive, to tell others how amazing they are, and yet I don’t treat myself as well as I treat others. My self talk isn’t always nice, and insecurity is prevalent. So God had me read, John 21:16 “Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you truly love me?” He answered, “Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Take care of my sheep.” 

God then turned to me and asked “Leslie, do you love me?”

“Of course I love you Daddy, you’re my everything.”

“Then if you love me, love yourself. truly love yourself.”

In the book of John, Jesus asked Simon 3 times if he loved Him, and 3 times He told Simon to take care of His sheep. 3 times God asked me if I loved Him, and 3 times He told me to make sure that I love myself as well. Why is it so important to love yourself fully? Love brings security, strength, peace, joy, every fruit of the spirit. Not loving yourself actually can give a foothold to the devil. When God tells you that He loves you and that you are amazing, perfect, beautiful, and then you say “No, I’m not.” you are actually calling God a liar. Love completes you, so when you choose not to love you, you are leaving yourself open to any and everything, asking these created things to fill you up.

You’ll go after that guy, that career, or whatever else you want, yearning for it to complete and love you, but I’ve realized that these things never will. When you love you fully, you will be able o love others better as well. I didn’t realize how I had been neglecting myself, and it scared me. So God has issued me a 100 day challenge of loving me and getting to know myself better. Today is day 2 for me. I invite you all to take up the challenge as well and take out some time to know and love thyself! Do something that you’ve always wanted to do, take yourself out, go on a picnic, or just wake up everyday and look in the mirror and say, I LOVE YOU! I’m starting by answering these 20 questions from this website. They are get to know yourself questions. I will definitely keep you guys posted on my journey and hopefully you’ll keep me posted on yours.

ONE MIND ONE HEART ONE LOVE

It is said that life and death is in the tongue, this I agree with. I would like to add that joy and peace are in the mind. You see, I’ve always tried to be a positive person, but doubt has filled my mind on many subjects and I didnt realize that it was robbing me of my joy until recently. 

I didn’t realize until today what actively pursuing peace is about. Now,I am still learning so I don’t have all the answers, but so far God has taught me that you have to have a focus, a goal and not to turn from the left or the right, but to go after or pursue it. So instead of letting myself focus on the bad or on other people and their issues and perceptions, I just need to focus on 2 things: God and myself.

I cannot change other people, but I CAN change how I react to them, how I let them treat me, and how I think about things. Also, I can learn to be content in ALL things, whether rich or poor, single or married, job or jobless. I don’t have to stay sad or angry.

So protect your joy, pursue her and love her and all that other stuff…let it go and keep on steppin’.

我刚做了我的头发，真的很漂亮。这是一个新的一年，所以我一个新的更好的我祷告。我已经让这么多的人把我在过去的优势，但感谢上帝，因为这是结束了。所以我对我工作的这一年里，我正在学习如何让自己很幸福。我有信心，一切都会好起来的。嗯…我可以检查我的清单做了头发，现在我去上班找工作。祝我好运！

今天我有热爱，是好的。我学会了得很多。上帝告诉了我很多。我爱上帝因为 他对我好。他给我一切：爱，家人，朋友们，世界。。。他都给我。有时侯我觉得， “他怎么爱我？ 怎么给我一切？“ 有时侯我对他不好，但是他仍然爱我了。。。今天我想一想，我的生活是好的因为我有上帝。他是我一切。我生活真是保佑的。

我也开心因为我有一个薪的朋友， 他是中国人，所以他会帮我与我汉语，我也帮他学系英文。 

好了我写多了，晚安 你们。。。

She sat in quiet reflection of the life that she has lived, oh how bitter sweet it is. She remembered all those times of trust broken and joy shattered. She remembered rising from the ashes time and time again like the great pheonix, knowing that death gave way to life. 

Now she stared at her reflection, there was still a sparkle in her eyes, life had not defeated her, life had not won the fight. She let her eyes drop to the faint wrinkles that now adorned her face, and she smiled because she felt more beautiful now than ever.

There is a peace that comes with age, a knowing, and true self worth. There is a love of one’s self, a confidence that is unshakable. She had made it through heart breaks, late bills, sick kids, jealousy, cheating, lost friendships, deaths, marriages, and grandchildren. 

She has lived to tell her story to me saying, “I remember how it felt when I was where you are, but remember there is hope, there is a pot of gold at the end of your rainbow.”

My aged self reached back through time to tell the me of now “You can make it…you can win…I’m living proof that you did.”
